The message is only a warning that yor Clam installation is not 100%
functional, thats all! Of course, if you receive a virus that the most
recent version is able to detect and the previous version wasn't... that's
not ClamAV fault!
I find the warning message pretty useful! And to update Clam is no big
deal. If you keep in a text file the parameters used for compilation, or
better still, write a simple script to do all the dirty work, the upgrade
process takes just a few seconds.
