Now back to your problem. First don't depend on install scripts to set
perms correctly. (But then you already know that, eh?) There are two
possibilities WRT perms that come to mind. One that these are to lose
and the other, they are too tight. I think yours is the latter case. The
error can't stat, tells me that the file can't be seen by the user
testing. Maybe /home/mailman is drwx------ where for the script to work
it ought to be drwxr-x--- or drwxr-xr-x. Worth a look and try.
