FWIW (which is not much), embedded Perl works on Ubuntu 20.04. I have 
not tested on Ubuntu 22.04.

Your output contains:

Note the /etc/mimedefang-filter while you indicated your filter is at 
/etc/mail/mimedefang-filter.
