Thanks Jim. Perl question, what's the pros/cons between
this sort of dbopen:

  if(dbmopen(%ALIAS, "/etc/aliases.db", undef)) {

and one that uses the "tie" interface?

  use DB_File;
  tie(%ALIAS, "DB_File", "/etc/aliases.db");
