This is why I had you add the "foreground" flag to progs as AIX's resource 
controller will do exactly all that... so no user "tracking" is required.. just 
startsrc -s mimedefang and stopsrc -s mimedefang.

You all just need to switch to AIX... That would solve all your problems!
