[Mimedefang] how to undo Verisigns mess

Ben,

What do you do when the forward address of say nbmassage.com resolves to
68.156.178.165 and the reverse of 68.156.178.165 resolves to
defiant.emacolet.com? Both of these are legit but would apparently get
rejected by your server because they don't match. Neither are spammer
accounts.

The DNS for these domains is setup per the DNS standards.

Rejecting mail outright because the forward and reverse don't match
would eliminate mail coming from servers that provide virtual domains.

I don't agree with Verisigns decision to resolve all IP addresses just
because they can; however, they didn't make this decision last week. They
have been doing this for MONTHS.

Regards,
Pete
