Nope, Mozilla and Incontinent Exploder both default to active connections.

iptables has a connection tracking module for FTP but I've found it less than
satisfactory (connection hangs when active transfer starts) so I just switch
to passive mode out of habit. Probably pilot error on my part, but I haven't
bothered to debug it.
