[Mimedefang] Multi-server bayes

I've been looking into this recently related to some projects that'll be
coming up on my to-do list after the first of the year.

One possibility that looks intriguing is a patch set submitted to the
SpamAssassin Bugzilla for using a MySQL database to store the Bayes and
AutoWhiteList databases. (See
http://bugzilla.spamassassin.org/show_bug.cgi?id=195 for details.)
Haven't actually gotten it set up yet, but it does look promising to me.

There was also discussion on the SpamAssassin mailing list a while back
regarding having multiple installations use the same Bayes database
files, mounted via NFS. The general concensus, as I recall, was that
the code ought to be NFS-safe, but that performance over NFS would
probably be less than desirable.

Subject: [Mimedefang] Multi-server bayes

I apoligize if this one's been discussed but I searched and couldn't
find much. Has anyone done any synching between servers for bayes
databases? I have three sendmail boxes with different MX prefs, all
running MD/SA for about a year now and I have bayes setup on one for
about 2 months now working well. I want to get this data to the other
two. Should I only have a primary box and rsync the database? Is there a
better way to merge data from the three boxes in case a secondary learns
extra stuff the primary hasn't?
