[Mimedefang] va_list undefined

I'm hoping someone knows what's going on here.

I recently installed MIMEDefang in conjunction with SpamAssassin, to
filter spam along with the more common viri found by File::Scan. I
modified the mimedefang-filter to do what I need, but upon running a
"mimedefang.pl -test" command, it keeps returning the following:

Constant subroutine __need___va_list undefined at /usr/lib/perl5/
   5.00503/i386-linux/stdarg.ph line 9.
   Filter /etc/mail/mimedefang-filter seems syntactically correct.

And upon starting the mimedefang multiplexor, my maillog returns the
following errors:

Dec 20 05:08:53 jescobalt3 mimedefang-multiplexor: started; minSlaves=2,
maxSlav
es=10, maxRequests=200, maxIdleTime=300, busyTimeout=30,

Dec 20 05:08:56 jescobalt3 mimedefang-multiplexor: Starting slave 1 (pid

Constant subr

/usr/lib/perl5/5.00503/i386-linux/stdarg.ph
 line 9.

Things seem to be running and successfully filtering, so I'm wondering
(a) what to do to fix this and (b) do I need to/would it be good to do
so? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
