It breaks the original DKIM signature on submissions because DKIM is 
designed to break when mail is re-processed and re-sent to a mailing 
list.

A new, valid, and properly aligned DKIM signature is applied to each 
message as is sent out to the list.

It would not be simple to not break incoming DKIM signatures and retain 
desired functionality of the mailing list.
