Well, it currently reads:

   The return value from filter_cleanup becomes the slave's exit
   status.

I guess I can change it to:

   The return value from filter_cleanup becomes the slave's exit
   status, so make sure filter_cleanup returns an integer suitable for
   a process exit status.
