Hmm, I see your point.  I guess it makes more sense for mimedefang to exit
with a failure exit status.

I have a patch that makes the child process report back to the parent that
mimedefang is ready, so it's easy enough to modify it to report failure 
and exit if the multiplexor socket fails to appear.
