[Mimedefang] SQL database for MIMEDefang (small)

I would like to use SQL database with "small footprint" in MIMEDefang.
Which one would you recommend? [<1E6 rows]

I would prefer to use BDI interface to allow switching to "normal"
database if the need arise.

I was thinking about SQLite but lack of support for "parallel write"
is "discouraging".
