[Mimedefang] man page clarification?

delete_recipient($recip)
              This  function deletes $recip from the list of recipients. 
That person will not receive a copy of the mail.  $recip should exactly 
match an entry
              in the @Recipients array for delete_recipient() to work.  ...


My question is why the caveat that it should match exactly?  For example, if 
I pass test at test.com and <test at test.com> is the actual $recip entry, will it 
fail?
