I'm doing something different.
I'm not concerned with the compliance nor size of the HTML code.
I am concerned with scripts and links.

A comment from the code that explains why did my own cleaner:

All the ready made cleaners/sanitizers/whatever are probably more 
  efficient than this. OTH, they are also more harmful, removing 
way too much for our users tastes.
Hopefully this custom stuff can strike a better balance...
