[Mimedefang] "smfi_register failed" error still present in MD 2.61

OK, so now I linked MIMEDefang 2.61 with sendmail 8.14.0's libmilter but,
similarly to 2.60, it refuses to start. Instead, it produces the following
message on the console:

Starting mimedefang:   /usr/local/bin/mimedefang: smfi_register failed

There is no such problem if I compile and link MD 2.61 with *.h files and
libmilter.a coming with sendmail 8.13.8. Also, surprisingly, MD compiled and
liked this way works with sendmail 8.14.0.

My system/kernel are: ubuntu 2.6.15-27-server and I complie with
gcc version 4.0.3 (Ubuntu 4.0.3-1ubuntu5).
