[Mimedefang] Seeing whitelisting errors

I'm getting the following in my logs:

May  2 08:26:08 mail mimedefang-multiplexor[4571]: Slave 0 stderr: auto-whitelist: open of auto-whitelist file failed: locker: safe_lock: cannot create tmp lockfile //.spamassassin/auto-whitelist.lock.mail.redfish-solutions.com.12480 for //.spamassassin/auto-whitelist.lock: No such file or directory


and wondering why I'm suddenly seeing these.

I'm also wondering if I want to enable whitelisting or not...  and how this interacts
with SpamAssassin's whitelisting...
