Hi,

I have another mail server which is configured the same way and is 
using 0.88, just like the one who got in trouble before I upgraded to 
0.88.2. And it's not doing the problem. I am trying to figure out what 
could be the difference.

I could augment the verbosity of clamd, but I will have to do that over 
the weekend, because it's a busy server and I don't want to lower 
performance.

As I said, the problem is fixed for the moment, but I need to know what 
happened.

Here is my original post for reference:

I have a problem that started May 1 at 00:00:03 .

Since that time, I get the following error code in the logs:

mimedefang.pl[2915]: Problem running virus scanner: code=1, 
category=swerr, action=tempfail

Mimedefang gets a return code of tempfail from clamd, and it keeps the 
SMTP from sending.

I updated the version of Clamav to clamav-0.88.2 (from clamav-0.88), 
but it didn't fix it.

I am using mimedefang-2.54

Everything was going well until 23:59:59 April 30.

Our logs rotate at 00:01:00

I managed to bypass it by commenting out the line in the file 
mimedefang-filter:

#       action_tempfail("Problem running virus-scanner");

Mail is now getting filtered OK, even catching viruses with clamd now, 
but I need to know what happened to fix it.

Any idea?
