Linux in general - according to this guy you can get up to 100K IP addresses on a single NIC with no problem:

RHEL in particular... no idea. Maybe a Red Hat discussion list would be a better place to ask? This is also done to host multiple web sites on a single server without requiring the HTTP/1.1 Host: header, so there might be some web hosters out there who could better answer this question.
