[Mimedefang] Slave died prematurely -- check your filter rules

Hi 

Our one of the mail gateways running Solaris 9 with Sendmail 8-13.1 +
Mimedefang 2.44 + SpamAssassin 2.64 started to log the following error
messages all of a sudden:

prematurely -- check your filter rules

What would be the problem? There are 1000s of above messages in syslog,
but it is still accepting  and routing  mail.
