follow-up. It looks like the only spam messages that did retry were
addressed
to a mailing list, which as part of its implementation re-delivers.
The mailing list is bug-glibc at gnu.org, btw, which unfortunately is 95% spam,
with useful technical messages sprinkled in every other week/so.
