[Mimedefang] mimedefang.sock is "unsafe"...

I'm running Red Hat 8 patched to the latest rev, Sendmail 8.12.11 and
MIMEDefang 2.41.
I think that everything is installed correctly, but I have a problem that I
can't seem to resolve:
Upon each received e-mail, I see errors similar to the following in maillog:
Mar 30 12:56:45 linux sendmail[1113]: i2UHuj3A001113: Milter (mimedefang):
local socket name /var/spool/MIMEDefang/mimedefang.sock' unsafe
Mar 30 12:56:45 linux sendmail[1113]: i2UHuj3A001113: Milter (mimedefang):
to error state
MIMEDefang is running as the "defang" user. "defang" owns the directory and
the mode is set to 700.
I'm assuming that this means that sendmail will not process through
MIMEDefang until resolved.
Any ideas as to how to fix this issue?
Thanks!
