I have reported the bugs to the two vendors that I know mis-handle this
case -- Seattle Labs and Novell.  SL has fixed their product; Novell
has not (to my knowledge.)

Right.  But put yourself in my position: I'm selling software to a
customer and suddenly his customers and suppliers can't e-mail him any
more.  I have no choice but to work around the problem; I can't simply
say "their servers are broken; have them deal with it."
