[Mimedefang] Xmimedefang: local socket name missing

I have just installed mimedefang + spamassassin.

When I restart sendmail, 
...
Starting mimedefang-multiplexor: [OK]
Starting mimedefang:             [OK]
Starting sendmail:               [OK]
Starting sm-client:              [OK]

the error message from /var/log/messages:

Mar 2 17:55:03 apsara sendmail: WARNING: Xmimedefang:
local socket name
/var/spool/MIMEDefang/mimedefang.sock missing.

So what should I do?

My second question is:
How can I filter attachment (eg. document.pif) and
discard the e-mail which has the file?
