[Mimedefang] syslogd can't be running with -t option?

We'd prefer to run syslogd with the "-t" option on our
MX hosts, and log to a separate "loghost".
mimedefang doesn't seem to like this, though. With syslogd
running with the -t option (don't run syslog services on
this host) it logs these errors (to the external loghost
it says it can't find, oddly enough...)

With syslogd running with no -t option, it runs fine.
I installed the Unix::Syslog module, same results.
