I saw that and thought that it couldn't be the correct package. I was looking for an encryption package that did "MP digital signatures"... thinking that MP signatures were something with which I was not familiar.

I guess that I totally misinterpreted the statement in the install instructions for clamav "... install the GNU MP 3 library in order to enable support for a database digital signatures." 

My confusion!
