[Mimedefang] mulitplexor will not start

Hello,

I have compiled mimedefang 2.37 on a solaris 8 box.  No errors were flagged
during the compile.

I did have mimedefang 2.35 running on this machine fine but as it is a
development box I thought I would try the new version.

When I try to start the multiplexor I get this

Starting mimedefang-multiplexor:
mimedefang-multi: Cannot findELF
Killed
[FAILED]

I did have this error with the previous version but it went away when I
compiled the software with sendmail shutdown.  I have disabled sendmail and
virtually everything else apart from what i need to log in to the machine.
I compile the software then try to run it and I get the above error

I have tried changing the prefix but to no avail

Any ideas gratefully appreciated
