It may be an issue with the trial license key. I know I had some
issues when I was first getting our version of Vexira going, but I
can't recall exactly what they were. Check to exit codes when running
on the command line. MIMEDefang does all its work by exit codes
(sensibly), but it may be that without a full license Vexira doesn't
give meaningful exit codes (I know that the demo license fails in this
respect).

My issues with Vexira mostly stemmed from their FreeBSD version not
being able to read the license key that they sent me. The Linux
version (on FreeBSD's binary compatibility layer) could. Go figure.
Unlike cam, I received very good technical support from them (even
though they were never able to solve the FreeBSD/Linux issue, they
happily encouraged me to send ktrace & truss output to them).
