[Mimedefang] Replacing mimedefang.pl functions

Hopefully this isn't a stupid question to the perl masters, but here 
goes:

Is there a relatively easy way to add (or replace) functions called 
in mimedefang.pl from within mimedefang-filter?

For a number of versions of MIMEDefang I've been making some minor 
modifications to certain functions in mimedefang.pl for my own 
nefarious purposes.  For a variety of reasons I'd prefer to avoid 
changing mimedefang.pl directly if at all possible.

I'm looking at adding functionality to get_quarantine_dir(), for 
example.

Is that possible?
