You should definitely update it.  Anything that identifies spam based on 
content is embroiled in an arms race.  The spammers change their spam to 
get past SpamAssassin (and other filters), then SA changes the filter to 
catch the new-style spam.

(And if you also want to use Razor, don't forget to apply the patch that 
comes with SpamAssassin.)
