I have the same issue

>My solution? Using my mailertable trick described earlier, any outbound
>mail I send that is addressed to anyone "@aol.com" gets routed (via
>mailertable) by my sendmail box, to my cable-provider's "sanctioned" smtp
>relay host. From there, that sanctioned host is able to relay my mail to
>aol.

And am using the same solution. But it's not just AOL that does this, roaringpenguin is another.. Here's my mailertable:

aol.com smtp:smtp-server.tampabay.rr.com
.rr.com smtp:smtp-server.tampabay.rr.com
.roaringpenguin.com smtp:smtp-server.tampabay.rr.com
cs.com smtp:smtp-server.tampabay.rr.com
netscape.net smtp:smtp-server.tampabay.rr.com
bmc.com smtp:smtp-server.tampabay.rr.com
wmconnect.com smtp:smtp-server.tampabay.rr.com
