I use the KDE panel's grouping feature for that.... so the taskbar isn't 
cluttered with my 20+ konsole windows.  Plus you can't make xterm 
transparent. :)

I use Mandrake on the desktop and love it, and use Redhat on servers (and 
like it).  Although i'm running Gentoo (on the xbox) and it's showing 
promise as my next desktop.  Emerge is awesome... i used to run freebsd 
and ports was one of my favorite things about it (that and it is fast as 
hell).
