[Mimedefang] Mimedefang.sock missing

Greetings,

I installed Mimedefang (2.31) and Spamassassin about a week ago.  When I
start sendmail (8.12.6) and mimedefang I get the message "Warning
/var/spool/MIMEDefang/mimedefang.sock missing".  The file is there, though
the size is 0.  But everything seems to be working.  MIMEDefang is
defanging.  Spamassassin is assassinating.  No errors showing up in the mail
logs.  Should I be worried?  Any ideas?  I found a message in the archives
from a year ago about the same warning message, but it doesn't apply.

My .mc line is:
INPUT_MAIL_FILTER(`mimedefang',`S=unix:/var/spool/MIMEDefang/mimedefang.sock
