Looks like the AWL patch recently posted to the list did this
or I had done something crazy.

Uncommenting

# BEGIN { @AnyDBM_File::ISA = qw(DB_File GDBM_File NDBM_File SDBM_File); }

in the beginning of DBBasedAddrList.pm fixed the problem and
everything is created using DB_File now.
