Just to clarify, i meant i don't put *email* addresses
in my access.db but i *do* put IP addresses and known
spam Domain Names there (e.g. all net blocks belonging
to Far-East conuntries are there).

All generalizations are false. There are some spam companies
that are well worth putting in access.db by domain name and IP
blocks. Why waste time analyzing the mail with MD and SA if
you know everything they send is going to be spam.

If we're talking about specific complete addresses, user at host.domain,
then I would agree *mostly* that it's better to generalize the
filter in MD and SA than to use the specific address. But even
so there are a small percent of cases that keep sending with the
same address over a long period of time-- some of the ones who
insist that what they send is not spam.

But when the message we're all responding to said "filter by
user-name", I thought he might have meant by recipient not by
sender. It was not clear.
