[Mimedefang] some mail not being scanned by SA

I've noticed recently that some email isn't being filtered thru SA even
though it should be.  I've put calls around the call to the spamasassin test
to either write to the log file and/or insert headers into the mail if the
test is skipped because of file size or !untested() , etc.  but some mail
doesn't even trigger these.

here's an example of the log file:

this has happened maybe about 7 times in the past 3 weeks since i installed
MIMEDefang(2.28)/Spamassassin(2.43)/Sendmail(8.12.7)

the mail would AT LEAST trigger the "suspected" spam tests, but it doesn't
appear to be scanned at all.

can anyone offer any suggestions?
