It gets better (or worse)...

I just opened a Win2k command prompt and went to a directory with some of my
command line utilities that I use for product development. I tried:

ren hex2bin.exe hex2bin.doc
hex2bin.doc

The shell ran the program anyway! It didn't even try to launch Open Office to
handle the file.
