Lest you think this is a lot of work, there's a nice web form at the site 
that builds the required DNS TXT record for you. Just fill in your domain 
name and check the boxes for your mail server policy and it writes the 
record. Then paste it into your DNS file.

SPF also works with those of us who don't have control of our reverse zones 
for outbound direct-to-MX mail; the record goes in the domain's forward 
zone, not it's reverse.
