[Mimedefang] Help With Multiplexor

Ok - I got Mimedefang to start - I don't know why it won't run from the 
init script- I run it from the file /etc/rc.d/rc.local with the command:
path to init-script/init-script start.

This is working, because netstat -a reports:

unix  2      [ ACC 
]     STREAM     LISTENING     1115   /var/spool/MIMEDefang/mimedefang.sock


However, there is still a problem - Trying to send mail still gets 451

A few things:

I am running the init script that comes with the distribution.

How can I use mimedefang without the multiplexor?

How can I compile up the multiplexor - and how do I start it?

Why am I getting all these "can't locate package" errors.
