[Mimedefang] clam antivirus error ?

I am trying to get clam av to work with mimedefang. When I start the
service it gives me the following error: 

> [root at ns1 clamav-0.60]#
> Starting clamd / ClamAV version 0.60
> ERROR: Can't get information about user mdefang.

Any ideas about this and how to fix it ??
