[Mimedefang] spam maildrop filter?

I'm trying to implement the spam maildrop filter featured in the FAQ at 
roaringpenquin.com.  I'm having trouble though, whenever I put the filter in 
mimedefang-filter it gives me a mimedefang error state in the mail log, and it 
won't work.  I'm running RH9.0 with Sendmail 8.12.9, MimeDefang 2.35, and 
Spamassassin 2.55.  I followed the how-to and running all the latest packages.  
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
