[Mimedefang] syslog problem?

I get the following error in a fresh install, stock filter,latest sendmail,
etc.

The "No such file/directory SOCK_DGRAM" error causes MD to not process the
messages, if I comment out "md_log_enable('mail', 1);" in the filter it seems
to work then.  But I'd like logging, is there a local socket configuration
it's looking for and cant find?  mail.* facilities in syslog are setup and
working for sendmail.

The Line 277 error doesnt seem to stop it from running, is this an issue
too?
