Because you are using Anomy::HTMLCleaner.  There is probably a way to
turn off defanging of img tags, but I don't know what it is.

I prefer to discard (most) HTML parts.  The ones I don't discard, I
read with a text-mode browser which ignores <img> tags and doesn't
understand Javascript.  That way, I don't need to use
Anomy::HTMLCleaner.
