[Mimedefang] question

Hi.

I am new to mimedefang and my interest is to use it with SpamAssassin.  I
installed everything, all the little pieces, but something is broken
somewhere.

All my mail goes through.  I get this header appended:

X-Scanned-By: MIMEDefang 2.21 (www . roaringpenguin . com / mimedefang)

I am using the stock config of mimedefang, haven't changed anything.  It
blocks attachments just fine.

The Spam Assassin piece doesn't seem to be working.  The hits variable is
always 0.  I changed the code so that it would add a header in even if hits
< req, and it added the header in (so that code is executing), but the hits
is always 0.  As I understand, this gets incremented by various things spam
assassin scans.  No type of message I send through generates anything but 0.

Running on Mandrake Linux.  Sendmail 8.12.3.

Can anyone help with where I should be looking?
