[Mimedefang] Strange error (only on Linux)

Folks,
Doubtless I'm missing something stupid here however I could
use a pointer to the "stupid"....

Using MimeDefang 2.11 on both Solaris-8 (working just fine) and
Redhat 7.2 (problem). Both systems are using sendmail 8.12.3
and SpamASSassin (all works fine).

On the Solaris box, I have the /usr/local/bin/mime* (prgs)
all set-UID "smmsp" which is the user that the non-root portion
of sendmail runs as....works just fine on the SUN. Am using the
multiplexor and all is well, sendmail, mimedefang and spamassassin
all work as they should.
So, i build and install it all on the Linux box and do the same
thing (ie SUID smmsp for the mime* prgs) and I am getting this
in my logs:

May 23 08:39:16 moses mimedefang-multiplexor: Starting slave 0 (pid
27818) (1 running): Bringing slaves up to minSlaves
May 23 08:39:16 moses mimedefang-multiplexor: stats 23/05/2002:08:39:16
1022157556.368 StartSlave slave=0 nslaves=1 nbusy=0 reason="Bringing
slaves up to minSlaves"
May 23 08:39:16 moses mimedefang-multiplexor: Slave 0 stderr: YOU
HAVEN'T DISABLED SET-ID SCRIPTS IN THE KERNEL YET! FIX YOUR KERNEL, PUT
A C WRAPPER AROUND THIS SCRIPT, OR USE -u AND UNDUMP! May 23 08:39:16
moses mimedefang-multiplexor: Reap: Idle slave 0 (pid 27818) exited
normally with status 255 (SLAVE DIED UNEXPECTEDLY)

The message "YOU HAVEN'T DISABLED...." isn't anywhere to be found in the
mimedefang stuff ?????

So, why am I getting this complaint, where's it coming from, and how do
I fix
it ??

Why the complaint about the "kernel"....?????

Thanks in Advance,
Jim
