[Mimedefang] Mimedefang 2.15 on FreeBSD 4.0

Ok,
So I stumbled through re-building sendmail with MILTER Feature (sendmail
8.12.3) to find out that I can't get a milter to compile on my mailserver
(FreeBSD 4.0) I tried the sample milter that came with sendmail and it works
great. So I know the Feature works. Now the only other milter that compiles
on my machine is MIMEDefang. I do not have any antivirus software, I'm
trying to use it strictly for SPAM. And SpamAssassin is installed.
So heres the error, and I get this with the 3 different mimedefang filters
I've used. Some that don't even check for viruses:

Any ideas why/what this file is and who's trying to create it (mimedfang or
spamassin)?

/var/spool/MIMEDefang is owned by user defang and group defang and process
is started under user defang (was doing the same under root).
