I *want* to say that I've heard of this before with screwed up 
Exchange boxes.  Search comp.mail.sendmail for "I/O error" and see 
what you get.

I *want* to say that I heard Exchange had issues.  Well duh. :)

PS==> Upgrade to 8.12.5.  It fixes a small security problem and some 
bugs.  The upgrade is pretty painless.
