It's probably the MIME-Tools patch.

That's fine; let me clarify:  You pass the "-k" option to
the "mimedefang" executable.  You can still use the multiplexor.

So for example:

mimedefang-multiplexor -x $MAX_SLAVES -m $MIN_SLAVES -b $BUSY_TIMEOUT \
        -i $IDLE_TIMEOUT -s /var/run/mdefang-mx.sock
mimedefang -m /var/run/mdefang-mx.sock -p /var/run/mimedefang.sock -k
